Town coat of arms
The coat of arms of Torroella de Montgri losanjado is a coat of gold, with four
suits of red, highlighted in the centre of a tower, sable Argen closed.
The shield is crowned with a mural crown of Baron. The tower is a traditional sign representing the name of the population and at the same time it symbolizes the towns castle.

The flag represents the Torroella de Montgri landscape. The
flag has bands of yellow and red stripes with the white tower superimposed at
the centre of the cloth.
The flag was published in the January 27 DOGC 1995.
There is a weekly market on Mondays.
The festival of Sant Genis takes place on August 25.
The La Feria de Sant Andreu is held the last weekend of November, and is one of
the oldest fairs in Catalonia, with more than 600 years of history.

Puerta de Santa Caterina in Torroella de Montgri
Of note is the bridge over the River Ter with well-preserved ramparts and a
medieval village, the Montgri unfinished Castle of the fourteenth century at
the summit of the Massif Montgri Montgri. The landscape worth seeing is the
sand dunes of the southwest Montpla and the coves located at Estartit.
Torroella de Montgri is a municipality in
Baix Emporda,
Torroella de Montgri is in Lower Emporda. Torroella
is the centre of the Ampurdan plain at the foot of the Massif Montgri on the
northern banks of the River Ter.
The town is part of the municipality formed in eighteenth century and Torroella
is a pond that dried. The Northwest of its territory lies at the heart of
Sobrestany. Its name recalls the old river Ter and the Northern Massif Montgri.
LEstartit requested the administrative independence of Torroella however this
was denied as it was not desirable by the neighbouring towns.
