Town coat of arms
The coat of arms of Torroella de Montgri losanjado is a coat of gold, with four suits of red, highlighted in the centre of a tower, sable Argen closed.

The shield is crowned with a mural crown of Baron. The tower is a traditional sign representing the name of the population and at the same time it symbolizes the towns castle.

The four suits of Catalonia suggest that the villa belonged to the Crown until 1272 and became the centre of the barony of Torroella, symbolized by a barons crown at the top of the shield.

The flag represents the Torroella de Montgri landscape. The flag has bands of yellow and red stripes with the white tower superimposed at the centre of the cloth.

The flag was published in the January 27 DOGC 1995.

Of note is the bridge over the River Ter with well-preserved ramparts and a medieval village, the Montgri unfinished Castle of the fourteenth century at the summit of the Massif Montgri Montgri. The landscape worth seeing is the sand dunes of the southwest Montpla and the coves located at Estartit.

Torroella de Montgri is a municipality in Baix Emporda, province of Gerona, in Catalonia.

Torroella de Montgri is in Lower Emporda. Torroella is the centre of the Ampurdan plain at the foot of the Massif Montgri on the northern banks of the River Ter.

The town is part of the municipality formed in eighteenth century and Torroella is a pond that dried. The Northwest of its territory lies at the heart of Sobrestany. Its name recalls the old river Ter and the Northern Massif Montgri.

LEstartit requested the administrative independence of Torroella however this was denied as it was not desirable by the neighbouring towns.
