History
The Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes was documented in the year 974AD with the name of The Villa Militiano within Ampurias County.

During the Middle Ages, a story revolves around this castle of Sant Pere. The Queen Juana Enriquez Catalonia lived here during the civil war between the forces of the Government and John II.

In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the marshes were drained and the river was diverted to Fluvia. The economy is divided between the harvest of fruits, especially apples, tourism and fisheries. In San Pedro marketing of fruit is done by the Cooperative Fruit Ampurdan.

Infrastructure

You can reach the municipality by the GIV-6216 road, which connects with the nearby town of Torroella de Fluvia, where it joins the autonomous C-31 road that leads to Figueras.

There is no railway station, but the nearest is the station of San Miguel de Fluvia 9 km with a stop for regional trains

At the heart of the Gulf of Rosas San Pedro Pescador in Catalan or Sant Pere Pescador is a municipality in Catalonia, Spain belonging to the province of Gerona, in the region of Alt Emporda and the Town of Fluvia, The town has a river which runs through it and has a 7km beach of fine sand and the area is included in the natural park called The Parque Natural de lEmporda Aiguamolls.

In the old town are preserved sections of the wall of the ancient fortifications and houses built between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Well known areas are The San Pedro Pescador, the Neighbourhood of Bon Relax and the Sopes Neighbourhood.
