Costa Brava Details

The fishing village is situated on a rocky coast, dotted with small coves, near other coastal and tourist areas, such as Llafranc. Cabo de Cap Roig is a botanical garden located at Cap Roig, and summer music festivals are celebrated at Cap Roig.

It is also known internationally for its annual meeting in Havana, which brings together thousands of people at the beach to listen to music by various groups. Other supporters of prestige are very popular in Catalonia, including a group from Port Bo Calella de Palafrugell.

In the old Hotel Batlle, the singer Joan Manuel Serrat Mediterraneo composed a song somewhat inspired by the landscape of this town on the Costa Brava.

One of the most curious landmarks of Calella is the “Pink House.” Located by the sea, its peculiar color contrasts with the other shades of surrounding buildings. In its open courtyard is a required step to cross from the beach to the Port Bo Canadell, and because of the views, it is common to see people always hanging out there. Over the years it has become a true emblem of Calella.

Calella de Palafrugell is a district of the municipality of Palafrugell, Baix Emporda, province of Girona in Spain. In 2005 it had 747 inhabitants.

Calella de Palafrugell is one of the coastal parishes of Palafrugell, located on the Costa Brava, a picturesque town that has retained the old charm of the people of the area before the arrival of mass tourism.
